Alexa Privacy Notice

This notice explains the optional Terrestream connection to Amazon Alexa. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes Aerodyne Inc., your rights, security, account deletion and contact details. The Terms of Service also apply. The skill is intended for adults using their own Terrestream sensors.

1. Your choice

No sensor readings or guidance are shared with Alexa until you enable the skill, sign in to Terrestream and select your sensors. You need a verified account, an owned sensor and cloud sync. The first release supports English (US) in the United States. There is no Terrestream subscription charge for this connection.

2. What we share with Amazon

For the sensors you select, we send device and connection identifiers, device names, supported capabilities, connectivity and timestamps; current environmental readings such as CO₂, particles, VOC and NOx indexes, temperature, humidity, pressure and light; and available derived Air Score, air-quality category and window guidance. These values can reveal conditions or activity in a room.

If you authorize Alexa events, we also send updates and named events for measurement thresholds, Air Score changes, window recommendations, airing opportunities, reminders and connection tests. Alexa uses them in routines you create. Amazon receives this information to display readings, answer supported questions and run your chosen routines.

Your Terrestream password stays with Terrestream during account linking. Alexa uses scoped authorization tokens. The integration does not send your home coordinates, journal entries, payment information or Terrestream password to Amazon, and Terrestream does not receive Alexa voice recordings. Amazon handles your voice requests under its own policies.

3. Routines and recommendations

Terrestream reuses the recommendations from your existing account. Window guidance needs your saved home location and outdoor-data permission. Missing or stale evidence can make guidance unavailable. You choose routine actions and speakers in Alexa; Terrestream cannot inspect your saved routines or know that an action actually happened.

Quiet hours and Rest Mode apply to Terrestream announcement events. They do not stop the separate measurement, score, window or airing automation events. People near your Echo may be able to ask for readings or hear announcements. Choose room names and spoken actions with that in mind.

4. Storage and retention

We keep the connection, selected-device records, preferences, authorization data and connection-test history while the link is active. Amazon event credentials are encrypted. Expired linking requests and tokens are removed by scheduled cleanup. Event-delivery records become eligible for cleanup one day after their expiry. Revoked connection records and their associated data become eligible for scheduled deletion after one day. Deletion runs periodically and may take longer during a service interruption.

Our normal reading retention, backup and account-deletion rules remain in the Privacy Policy. Amazon keeps and uses information it receives under its Privacy Notice and Alexa terms. Disconnecting does not recall information already received by Amazon.

5. Disconnecting and deleting data

In the Alexa manager, choose Disconnect Alexa to revoke Terrestream access. Future reads and event delivery are blocked; we clear event credentials and pending updates when we process the disconnection. Also disable the skill and remove any unwanted routines in Alexa. An action already accepted by Amazon may still complete.

Changing device ownership or withdrawing cloud sharing stops further readings for that device. Removing the connection does not delete your Terrestream account or sensor history. Use account settings or our privacy request portal for access or deletion requests. Use Amazon's privacy controls for information it holds.

6. Environmental information

Terrestream provides environmental information, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. It is not an emergency alert system or a replacement for smoke or carbon monoxide alarms. Recommendations and routines can be delayed or unavailable. Do not use the integration for safety-critical equipment.
