This page lists the Terrestream features available on September 27, 2026 for households (Free and Pro), for Family Circle and for Terrestream Facilities. Terms §8 refers to it. It describes what each feature does. It isn't a promise that a feature will always work or be available; see Terms §10 and §11.
1. How this page can change
As Terms §8.4 describes:
- We may add features, change them, retire them or move them between Free and Pro. Additions and small changes take effect when we post them here.
- If we remove a central feature from Free, we give you 30 days' notice and ask you to accept the change before you continue to use cloud features (Terms §20.5).
- If we move a feature from Free to Pro, accounts that set up a sensor before we announce the change keep that feature free for 12 months.
- The features in section 7 always stay free.
- Changes to Pro pricing or renewal terms follow Terms §8.2.
2. Ways to use the sensor
The sensor works in one of three ways.
2.1 Standalone
The sensor isn't connected to Wi-Fi. Its screen shows live readings. Nothing is sent over the internet. You don't need an account or a subscription, for the life of the sensor.
2.2 Connected
The sensor is on Wi-Fi and linked to your Terrestream account. It sends its readings to the Terrestream cloud, which powers the apps and the web dashboard. Cloud upload is on by default. The sensor also gets firmware updates and the time over the internet.
2.3 Local-only
Firmware 4.1.0 or later supports local-only mode with a compatible paired Home Assistant integration (section 3.3). Public availability of that integration is separate from the firmware capability. In local-only mode:
- the sensor stops sending readings to the Terrestream cloud, so the apps and the web dashboard stop receiving new readings;
- readings still go to Home Assistant on your network;
- the sensor still contacts our servers to check for firmware updates and to confirm that updates installed correctly (it sends its device ID, firmware version, boot ID and firmware image hash), and it still gets the time over the internet.
A factory reset turns cloud upload back on.
3. Household features (Free)
Released features in this section are included at no charge when your sensor is connected and your account is in good standing. Unreleased or integration-dependent features are identified below.
3.1 On the sensor

3.2 In the apps and the web dashboard
"iPhone" means the Terrestream app for iOS, "Android" the Terrestream app for Android, and "Web" the web dashboard at app.terrestream.com.

3.3 Local connections
These connections run on your own network. They're free.

Apart from its temporary setup page, the sensor doesn't offer a local web API.
3.4 About outdoor data
Outdoor air quality, pollen, weather, smoke and forecast data come from third parties (listed at /legal/sub-processors). Coverage, detail and update times vary by location. The data can be delayed, estimated, unavailable or shown for an area rather than your street. Don't treat it as emergency, medical or regulatory information.
4. Pro
Pro is not offered for new purchases at this time. Everything in section 3 is available on Free. Existing subscription rights and access remain governed by Terms §8.
4.1 What Pro adds

Pro belongs to the account that subscribes. It extends how long history is kept for the homes that account owns.
4.2 Price, trial and cancellation
There is no new Pro checkout or trial enrollment at this time. Existing subscribers can use Manage billing in the web dashboard to manage or cancel their subscription. Terms §8 governs existing subscription rights, cancellation and any future offer.
5. Family Circle (free)
Family Circle lets you share a home with other people. It's free on every account.
- Size. Up to six people per home, including the owner.
- How people join. The owner or a co-owner invites someone by email. They accept with their own Terrestream account. When they accept, they see what they'll have access to.
- Roles.

- What members see. The home's rooms, current and past readings, alerts and insights for that home. Members can see the names and email addresses of the people in the Family Circle, including the owner. They don't see the owner's billing. Only owners and co-owners see the home's coordinates and separate presence and routine insight views. All members see air-quality alerts and their detailed evidence, including possible cooking, cleaning and presence.
- Age. Where invited-minor enrollment is available, teens aged 13 to 17 (14 to 17 in Quebec) may join through the guardian-confirmation and personal-acceptance process in Terms §2.2 and §8.8. Children under 13 (under 14 in Quebec) can't be added.
- Leaving. The owner or a co-owner can change a member's role or remove them. Members can leave at any time from Settings in the web dashboard.
6. Terrestream Facilities (organizations)
Terrestream Facilities is a separate workspace at facilities.terrestream.com for organizations that monitor many rooms. The Facilities Commercial Terms and your accepted order also apply.

Not included: floor or zone levels, zone-based roles, webhook or ticketing integrations, PDF exports, organization API keys, single sign-on (SAML), SCIM provisioning and an uptime service-level agreement. Two-factor authentication is available for every account. We do not claim SOC 2 certification.
7. Always free
These stay free for every active account and can't be moved to Pro (Terms §8.1):
- exercising your privacy rights described in the Privacy Policy, including access, correction, deletion and portability; and
- deleting your Terrestream account.
8. Version history
- September 27, 2026 · 2.0. Retitled "Current Feature Matrix". States feature availability and release limits. Family Circle is free. New Pro purchases and trials are not offered. Facilities matches the product. Added local-only mode and the Home Assistant link. Removed features that aren't offered: lenses (Sleep, Cognition, Family, Wellbeing and Pet), smart-feels-like, wearable and sleep integrations, geofence arrival, Air Ghosts and Wrapped, climate projections and the Climate API, climate stripes and the hot-day counter, public or shared dashboard links, scheduled PDF exports, and in-app purchases through the App Store or Google Play.
