Free Tier and Pro Subscription — Current Feature Matrix

This page is the “current feature matrix” referenced by §8.1 and §8.4 of the Terms of Service. It identifies the capabilities of the Terrestream Indoor Air Quality Sensor (the “ Device ”) that are available on the Free Tier and the additional capabilities provided by the Pro Subscription. The Terms of Service control; this page is operational reference material only.

⚠️ The feature matrix can change

Terrestream may revise this feature matrix. As provided in §8.4 of the Terms of Service, Terrestream may add features to either the Free Tier or the Pro Subscription, retire features from either tier, move features between tiers, change Pro Subscription pricing or trial duration on a going-forward basis, or otherwise revise this matrix. Additions and non-material adjustments take effect on posting with reasonable notice where practicable.

Material reductions in the Free Tier — meaning the removal from the Free Tier of a feature that a typical residential User would consider central to the product’s value — require thirty (30) days’ advance notice under §20.5 and Your affirmative re-acceptance to continue receiving Cloud Services, as set out in §8.4. Material reductions to the reserved Free Tier features identified in §8.1 (the Free Tier floor) are not permitted under that subsection and would require renewed affirmative consent under §20.5 in any event. Material changes to Pro Subscription pricing or auto-renewal terms are governed by §8.2.

Grandfathering on Free-to-Pro feature migrations. When a feature is moved from the Free Tier to the Pro Subscription, accounts that first activated a Device under that Terrestream account before the public announcement date of the change will continue to receive that feature in the Free Tier for twelve (12) months from the effective date of the change, as set out in §8.4. Grandfathering is per-account; it does not transfer with a Device under §3.7.

The three operating states

As set out in §8.1 of the Terms of Service, the Device operates in one of three states. This matrix governs the two Connected states; Standalone Mode is unaffected.

  1. Standalone Mode. Wi-Fi disabled. The Device’s integrated display shows real-time readings. No logging, no Cloud Services, no app or dashboard interaction. Standalone Mode operates without any account or subscription and at no charge for the life of the Device.

  2. Connected (Free Tier). Wi-Fi enabled and the account is in good standing. Terrestream offers the Free Tier at no charge as currently described in the feature matrix below.

  3. Connected (Pro Subscription). Wi-Fi enabled, account in good standing, and an active Pro Subscription. The Pro Subscription adds the features identified in the feature matrix below on top of the Free Tier.

Connected (Business) for organizations

Organizations that deploy multiple Devices across one or more sites may register those Devices to a Connected (Business) organization account rather than a household account. The Business tier is billed per Device per month, with volume pricing, and is described operationally below. The Terms of Service, including the Commercial User obligations in §13.7, control. Device hardware is purchased separately at the one-time Device price and is the same Device sold to consumers.

On top of the Connected feature set, the Business tier adds:

  • Organization account. Devices register to an organization with a building, floor, and zone hierarchy.
  • Role-based access. Account owner, administrator, viewer, and installer roles, each scoped to the zones they manage.
  • Audit log. Configuration and access changes are recorded.
  • Routed alerts. Threshold and pattern alerts route to SMS, email, webhook, or a ticketing system, configured per zone and silenced outside operating hours by default.
  • Data retention. Configurable organization retention, twenty-four (24) months by default, with CSV, API, and scheduled PDF exports.
  • Organization API. Organization-scoped API keys with higher rate limits.
  • Support. Business support with a target first response of one (1) business day, plus installation guidance and tuning for larger fleets.
  • Billing. Per Device per month, annual invoicing available, with purchase orders and net-30 terms for qualifying volume.

Single sign-on (SAML), SCIM provisioning, a contractual uptime service-level agreement, and SOC 2 attestation are not included in the Business tier at this time. Single sign-on and SOC 2 are planned. Organization accounts use role-based access with multi-factor authentication. Terrestream may change Business tier features and pricing on prospective notice as described in this document.

Pro Trial and pricing

Pro Trial Period. The first Terrestream account to activate a given Device receives a three (3) month Pro Trial Period beginning on the activation date. No payment information is collected, and the trial does not auto-convert to a paid Pro Subscription. At the end of the Pro Trial Period the account automatically falls back to the Free Tier; cloud-stored data, history, and connected functionality remain available subject to the Free Tier feature set. You may upgrade to a paid Pro Subscription at any time during or after the trial. Each Device serial number is entitled to one (1) Pro Trial Period over the life of the Device. Full Pro Trial mechanics are set out in §8.1.

Pro Subscription pricing. The Pro Subscription is offered at the price disclosed at enrollment. Pricing may vary by region and currency and may change with notice in accordance with §8.2. This page does not state a price; the current price is shown at enrollment in the Web Dashboard or Mobile App.

Feature definitions

The following are operational descriptions of the capabilities identified in the matrix. These descriptions are not warranties; they describe the intended function of each capability. The Terms of Service, including without limitation §9 (Disclaimers) and §15 (Limitation of Liability), apply in full.

Five-axis state output
The Device classifies the indoor environment along five axes — Feel, Air, Quality, Moisture, and Light — with per-axis state, event, and source-attribution outputs as described in the product documentation.
Deterministic recommender
A rules-based recommender that suggests user-actionable steps (e.g., a window-swap window during favorable outdoor conditions) without per-user model training. Recommendations are observational and informational; they do not constitute commands or alerts.
AI-generated Discovery cards
Weekly personalized insight cards generated from the per-user model, surfaced in the Discover tab. Discovery cards are not pushed as notifications by default.
Annual climate letter and climate stripes
A once-per-year summary of the User’s home and outdoor environment, including a climate-stripes hero visualization and a hot-day counter.
Auto-activated lenses (Sleep, Cognition, Family)
Lenses tighten per-axis thresholds for specific rooms or times. The Sleep, Cognition, and Family lenses activate automatically based on context. Most-restrictive-threshold-wins composition.
History retention
The Free Tier retains the most recent ninety (90) days of per-minute history. The Pro Subscription retains unlimited per-minute history beginning from Device activation under the Pro Subscription. History stored under a prior Pro Subscription remains accessible if the account returns to the Pro Subscription, subject to §8.7.
Smart-feels-like
A personalized thermal-comfort index combining outdoor UTCI, WBGT, window-aware indoor mean radiant temperature, and a personalized thermal-index target when the thermal-index pass is enabled.
Wellbeing lens
A user-chosen profile (asthma, migraine, or elderly) that tightens relevant per-axis thresholds and surfaces long-term pattern observations. Profile selection is voluntary and revocable.
Pet lens
Species-specific tighter thresholds reflecting the sensitivity of the species the User identifies as resident in the home.
Family Circle
Shared access to a home with up to six family members across all permission tiers (Owner, Co-owner, Family member, Guest, Aging-in-place dependent), as set out in the product documentation.
Smart-home integrations
At v4 launch, Pro Subscription accounts receive read-only outbound events to compatible smart-home platforms. Active orchestration (e.g., smart blinds, purifiers, thermostats, Matter scenes) is provided only after separate consent and product review per §11.4.
Climate-tab depth
Includes a future-projection slider, generational annotations, and access to the full Climate API as documented at the time of use.
Air Ghosts and Wrapped
Multi-year replay of the User’s home environment, an annual recap, and an AI-written personal climate letter.
Sleep-stage IAQ correlation
Pro Subscription integrations with Apple Health, Oura, Whoop, and Garmin to correlate sleep-stage data with indoor air quality observations.
Returning-home freshness
Geofence-based pre-arrival air-prep observations to anticipate the User’s return home.

Free Tier floor (reserved features)

As set out in §8.1 of the Terms of Service, the following capabilities are reserved Free Tier features and remain available to active account holders at no charge regardless of any change to this matrix. These features may not be moved to the Pro Subscription under §8.4:

  • The ability to exercise every Data Subject Right described in Privacy Policy §P7 (including access, deletion, portability, correction, and the other rights set out in that section).
  • The ability to delete Your Terrestream account.

All other features of the Free Tier and Pro Subscription identified above may be added, modified, retired, or migrated between tiers in accordance with §8.4 and §20.5.
