Terrestream Limited Warranty
Effective September 27, 2026 · Version 2.0 · This page and Terms §10 set out the same warranty. If they differ, the one more favorable to you applies.
This is a limited warranty. It lasts one year.
1. Who gives this warranty
Aerodyne Inc., which sells Terrestream ("we" or "us"), 8 The Green, Ste A, Dover, DE 19901, USA. For warranty service and returns, write to Aerodyne Inc., Attn: Warranty Service, 991 Providence Hwy, Ste 1149, Norwood, MA 02062, USA. Legal correspondence uses the Dover address.
2. What it covers
We warrant that the Terrestream Indoor Air Quality Sensor is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. The same coverage applies to accessories supplied with the sensor, including the USB-C cable and power adapter when supplied.
This warranty covers the sensor hardware and supplied accessories. The Terrestream apps, web dashboard and cloud services are covered by the Terms, not by this warranty.
3. How long it lasts
One year from the date you bought the sensor new from Terrestream or an authorized reseller (the "warranty period"). The warranty period doesn't restart if the sensor changes hands.
A repaired or replacement sensor or covered accessory is covered for the rest of the original warranty period or 30 days from when we deliver it, whichever is longer.
4. Who it covers
The person who bought the sensor new, and anyone who owns it later during the warranty period. A later owner needs the original proof of purchase to make a claim. Proof of purchase means the order confirmation, receipt or invoice that shows the date you bought the sensor.
5. What we'll do
If the sensor or a supplied accessory has a covered defect, we'll repair it or replace it, at our choice, at no charge for parts or labor. A replacement may be new or refurbished and will work at least as well as the original.
Repair or replacement is the only remedy under this warranty. Section 12 and the law where you live may give you other rights.
Shipping. You pay to ship the sensor or covered accessory to us where the law permits. Aerodyne pays to ship the repaired or replacement item back to you. Mandatory local consumer rights take priority; where they require us to pay inbound shipping, we do. If your sensor doesn't power on or pass its self-test within 14 days of delivery, see section 15 instead: we send a replacement and a prepaid return label.
6. What it doesn't cover
This warranty doesn't cover:
- normal wear and tear;
- cosmetic damage that doesn't affect how the sensor works;
- damage caused by an accident, misuse, abuse, neglect or failure to follow the sensor’s instructions;
- damage caused by power surges, voltage problems or a power adapter that doesn't meet the sensor's specifications;
- damage caused by water or other liquids, or by use outside the published operating conditions;
- damage caused by opening, modifying or repairing the sensor, or by installing firmware that we didn't issue;
- gradual sensor drift that is normal for these sensor types (Terms §6). Drift isn't a defect in materials or workmanship.
Opening or repairing the sensor, or having someone else repair it, doesn't by itself cancel this warranty. We still cover defects that the work didn't cause.
7. How to get warranty service
- Contact us with your order number and a description of the problem: terrestream.com/contact?dept=support or support@terrestream.com.
- We may ask you to try some troubleshooting steps first.
- If the problem is covered, we'll give you a return authorization (RMA) number and instructions.
- Before you ship the sensor, remove it from your Terrestream account in the app or web dashboard. We may reset the sensor as part of the repair.
- Pack the sensor or covered accessory carefully. Put the RMA number on the outside of the package and include your proof of purchase.
- Ship it to: Aerodyne Inc., Attn: Warranty Service, 991 Providence Hwy, Ste 1149, Norwood, MA 02062, USA.
- We'll repair or replace the sensor or covered accessory and ship it back to you.
We may refuse a package that arrives without an RMA number.
Free paper copy. To get a printed copy of this warranty, contact us as in step 1 or write to the address in section 1. We'll mail one at no charge.
8. Firmware updates
If a signed firmware update that we issue stops your sensor from turning on, passing its self-test or measuring normally, we'll roll the update back, repair the sensor or replace it. This applies even after the warranty period ends. It doesn't apply if the failure was caused by modifying the sensor or its firmware, or by using the sensor outside the published operating conditions. See Terms §15.
9. Implied warranties
Any implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, last only for the one-year warranty period. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
If you live in Massachusetts, the limit in this section doesn't apply to you.
10. Incidental and consequential damages
To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for incidental or consequential damages, such as lost data or lost time, that result from a defect covered by this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
Terms §11 sets out our other limits of liability and what they don't cover, including liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
11. Your legal rights
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. In Canada, your rights may also vary from province to province.
No one, including our resellers and employees, can change or extend this warranty.
12. Canada, including Quebec
All provinces. Consumer protection laws, including Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, may give you warranties or conditions that can't be excluded. Where those laws apply, they take priority over this page, and any implied warranty that can't be excluded lasts for at least the minimum time the law requires.
Quebec. In addition to this limited warranty, the Quebec Consumer Protection Act gives you a legal warranty. Goods must be fit for the purposes they're normally used for, and durable in normal use for a reasonable time, considering their price, the terms of the contract and how they're used. The legal warranty is free, can't be excluded or limited by contract, and applies whether or not you use this limited warranty. The durability, repairability and maintenance rules added to the Act in 2023 (S.Q. 2023, c. 25) also apply. Quebec law takes priority over anything on this page that conflicts with it.
13. Mexico
If you bought your sensor for delivery in Mexico, the Mexico consumer addendum (in Spanish) sets out your warranty rights under the Federal Consumer Protection Law (Ley Federal de Protección al Consumidor). Where it gives you more, it applies.
14. Disputes
Claims under our written limited hardware warranty are not subject to mandatory arbitration or the 30-day negotiation requirement in §19.2. Other court provisions apply only to the extent permitted by law, with applicable local consumer protections preserved. You may bring those claims in a court with jurisdiction. Contacting support is optional and does not postpone or limit your legal rights.
15. Returns are separate
This warranty covers defects. Returns are handled separately:
- 30-day returns. If you bought from Terrestream, you can return the sensor within 30 days of delivery, even if you've opened and used it. See /returns.
- Dead on arrival. If the sensor doesn't turn on or pass its self-test within 14 days of delivery, we send a free replacement and a prepaid return label. See /returns.
Terms §8.5 covers returns. Where the returns page is more generous, it applies.
16. Changes and earlier purchases
The warranty that applies to your sensor is the one in effect on the day you bought it. If you bought before September 27, 2026, Terms §10.1 of the version then in effect applied the same one-year repair-or-replace warranty. We'll also apply this page to those sensors where it's more favorable to you.
17. Version history
- September 27, 2026 · 2.0. First publication as a separate page. Same one-year repair-or-replace warranty as Terms §10.1, with the statements federal law requires, a warranty service address, damage exclusions based on cause, and the Canada and Quebec legal-warranty language.
